About the Government Portal of Data

It is a public information resource, created in order to provide a qualitative, holistic and integrated experience for all those interested in accessing and using the data that is collected and produced by authorities, public institutions, Government in general.

The objective of the Government Data Portal is to provide the user with the information he needs, when he needs, in the form most appropriate to the objective pursued. It gathers information from several information resources of public institutions (directly and indirectly), except for information that falls under the law on state secrecy, or other special legislation.

The Government Data Portal represents an aggregation of 3 initiatives of the Government of the Republic of Moldova in the field of data, namely:

• publishing open data sets of central public administration, ministries and institutions in order to facilitate citizens' access to the date, their active participation in the decision-making (part of the global Open Government Partnership);
• implementation of public data access and search mechanisms;
• ensuring controlled access to information for entities with a legal basis and purpose.
